Florida Outdoor Writers Conference was this weekend in Lake City

Got to go to the Osceola Public Range where we shot a number of different rifles & pistols

My highlight was shooting the M1 using only iron sights shooting at 100 yds.....not too bad for some over 50 eyes

Think I might have been able to eliminate a few Germans, of course I wasn't getting fired back at.

Thanks for those who served/serve our country

My buddy who owns the ranch that I dove hunt on has a couple Garands and Carbines. The Garand shoots a 30-06. The Carbine shiots a .30 carbine load. So which was it?

They are really nice to shoot.

Then it was the Garand. Sweet gun.

My best friend bought one of each of the M1's at gun shows while we were in High School. He just turned 18 then. Simpler times.
Garland kicks like a mule though, but will put a big arse hole in a German.
