Looking for somewhere to go yak fishing near BR. Not looking for specific spots, just don't really know anywhere close that would be decent fishing.

Any ideas where to start?

Lake at White Oak behind Shenandoah. Sac-au-lait should be biting soon. I've seen bass schooling in there before. Caught two over 10 in there. But it has silted up some over the years

Not a ton of options around here, but the LSU Lakes are always fun. Amite River, Bayou Manchac, and the north end of the Spillway are doable.

See if u can get access to neighborhood ponds like Azalea Lakes, Rosemound, ETC.

Try the spillway. I've fished pats bay in my yak. I'm sure there's plenty of places in sorrel and pigeon that you can fish with a kayak. It's not in Baton Rouge but it's not far either. Maybe head towards Ramah and fish the pits behind the levee.
