I plan on doing this one year. I have some friends that went. They each shot over a case of shells. Killed plenty of dove and parakeet.

A buddy of mine went there in 2010. "6 hunters, 4 days, 1486 boxes of shells, 30,099 doves-pigeons-parakeets and misc flying objects." Taken from his FB page.

I saw the day rates. How much do they charge for the shells?

I have always you spend more on shells than anything else in Argentina.

shells are $14 per box or there abouts. That is the major expense of the hunt

I have some buddies that kill over 3000 doves each day. Not sure I want to shoot that much and take that amount of pounding. I think I will try to limit myself to 1000 shots per day and carefully work on my wing shooting.

It is in the Cordoba Province with outfitter Argentina Expeditions.

If you are in the airport, look for the man with an LSU hat on and it will likely be me!!!!!

I dont guess I'll ever be going. Is it really worth that kind of money?

To some guys - yes. There are few places in the world where you can do that volume of wing shooting legally. There are so many doves in Argentina that they are considered pests so by killing large numbers you are actually helping the environment. None go to waste. You eat a lot at the various lodges and they give the rest to the workers and local villages.

If it is worth it to you, save your money and go. If not, no problem.

For most guys it is a once in a lifetime trip.

That's like 62 boxes of shells per hunter per day.

1550 shots per day

Assuming 12 hours of daylight, thats 129 shots per hour or over 2 shots every minute for 12 straight hours.

Also, that's an 81% kill ratio with doves.

Ummmm . . . .

Basically said they were using their over and under guns and blasting them, then the little Argentine helpers would hand them a gun with 8 shells.

The thing that sucks is that you can't bring any home with you.

I have a trip scheduled for the second week in June with Trek Safaris to Cordoba. I didn't want to shoot ten cases of shells a day, so we are doing a combo hunt, alternating perdiz hunting and Dorado fishing in the morning, dove in the afternoon. I'm really looking forward to it.

I've been twice you need to change OP to " dove shoot" there is not hunting involved. It actually got boring after first day for me.I took customers who loved it.
