Moving to the country

Give me some suggestions for Christmas gifts for the kids, from 2-9 years old.

What's a good pair of mud boots (that will be outgrown in a year)?

BB gun for the boys, 6-8 years old?

What else?

TIA

Boots, BB guns are a must.

What price rang you looking to stay in?

Pocket knife for oldest, hound, wal-mart rubber boots for everyone, cheap compass, red riders, pop gun. The youngest one(s) I'm sure are like mine where they still get excited with the boxes and bubble wrap.

6-8 yrs old Red Ryders are gold .
A basic scout type pocket knife.
A basic Leatherman works too.
Any Pair of Camo mud boots work.
Flash lights like mini mags.
Zebco fishing rods & basic tackle.
Scout canteens.

My grandson loves his stuff, Ive got him all the above plus a Single Shot 410 and a cz 455-22lr and a Honda 50 dirt bike.
I wouldnt say he's country but I try to keep him from being a millenial pussy.
He's got his dirt bike off the training wheels in a month and can shift and ride like an adult.

I got him a gun cabinet for his bb gun, rifle and shotgun but his father has the key.
He is proud of his belongings and takes great care of his things.

Think about what you liked at that age and you can't go wrong.

Lifetime license far and away the best gift I've ever received. Didn't appreciate it till I turned 18 but not having to worry about it being current etc etc and only having to pickup a duck stamp is invaluable, plus save a ton of $ over time.

I can second the cricket .22. My 7yr old is a squirrel infidel with his.

Depending on how much land too, maybe a small atv or dirtbike

Muffin pan to make mud pies.

My older brothers used to have dirt wars down by the river, so they would pay us a nickel for every dozen mud pies we'd make. Good times.

A plastic whistle for rescue might be nice. We used to make booby traps in the woods. Dig a deep hole and cover with sticks and leaves. Rival kids would fall into the holes.

I was such a tomboy.

Sling shot. My son loves his, and has gotten pretty good at hitting stuff on purpose.

I had two older brothers. We got a tent the Christmas when I was in kindergarten. Used it camping out for years. Started out in the back yard and got to go a little farther into the woods each year.

My dad also built us a treehouse everywhere we ever lived until we moved the summer after my freshman year in hs.

If you've got a pond, a rope swing would be great.

All of the camping equipment mentioned and the pocket knives, canteens, etc.

We got shotguns when we were 10-12 years old.
