Now that I have had my little boat for 6 months I feel that I can finally give it a proper review. I have honestly been nothing but impressed with this skiff. I have had it in rougher water than I probably should have but I never really felt sketched out. It definitely is a wet ride in some chop but it never felt sketchy or scary to me. Boat wakes are no problem and I can either just run and stay on top of them or slow down and plow through them. The handling and speed is awesome, it is like a go cart on the water. I get 28mph with 2 people and gear and I haven't really done any tweaking to try and get more speed out of it. This little boat has put me on plenty fish so far this year and I couldn't be happier with it. I already have 2 friends getting one and I'm sure I have turned a few strangers on to them before. I think this is a great little skiff for the inner marshes of Louisiana.

I'm almost finished, just need to add a poling platform, grab bar, GPS, and iPilot. Should be done by the end of summer.

Here's a bunch of pics from the past 6 months.

What is your all in cost?

Why this over a welded aluminum semi-v?

What do you want to go with?

Hull/trailer/delivery fee $3300
Motor/Prop $3500
Already had trolling motor and battery. Got a Carbon Marine push pole from Bluemoons for a great deal.

I wanted to buy everything brand new but there are tons of deals floating around on these boats. And because this boat is easier to pole, lighter, faster, more stable, etc. and they are crazy customizable.

I wanted an LT at first, purely for the fact that it was rated for 3 people, but now it looks like Gheenoe has downgraded them to a 2 person rating. Combined with reports that they like to slide and that used LTs are usually $7k+ range, I'm out. Used Classics are usually in the $2500-$3500 range. It'll be a while before I'm in the market but I think I'd like a Classic. I need to take you up on that trip one day.

Yeah the LTs do slide in turns and are significantly more expensive. There's a used classic hull/trailer for sale in New Orleans right now for $1200.
And yeah man we can go whenever.

I picked up a 13' for $60. Had to put a new transom in it. Good little boat for skinny water and hunting.

How high are you going with the Poling Platform? Seems like a lot of guys use a removable circular platform for rear seat and pole off that.

Have you fly fished out it yet? Is it a PIA to store the rod on the side of the boat or do you break it down when moving spots?

It's coming along man, taking a lot longer than I anticipated but it'll be done in a month or so. Thinking about vinyl wrapping it instead of painting it but I'll get into that once I update my thread

A good bit above the motor. Guys with those circular platforms have the smaller gheenoes that can't accept a full platform in the back.

And I haven't fly fished out of it yet but we have brought a fly rod a couple times. It's not in the way it just runs down the side of the boat. I'm about to order some horizontal rod holders that attach under the rub rail and are stowable when not in use.
