Morning. Seems I bought wrong opener ( thanks to my three small ones) and installed. Had to change the rail out and everything as I lost the receipt and realized it wasn't a direct swap. Changed everything out and noticed it said for 7 food door not 8. Lost about an inch of stroke but other than that it seems to work fine. Anyone buy the extension kit? Should I leave it? Thoughts?

This is what I get for leaving the in laws and the arguments for Xmas. And having 4 kids under 5 around me in the shop.

If your cars fit under fine then just leave it.

My second garage has a 7ft on an 8ft door. I have the extension but haven't needed to add so I haven't.

I just did the same thing. Bought a 7ft and had to bring it back because they didn't sell the extension. Had to buy a more expensive model and the extension was another 70.00. You didn't have to move the entire unit a foot closer to the door?

O I did move the fricker. And the new rails and shite. Its just for my shop. When I moved into was like no way ita going to open it all the way. I wasbatba point of no return and moved it. I made marks and it opens up just shy of an inch less. I wasn't sure if it was going to burn it up sooner.

Thanks
