Game cam question (buckeye cam orion camera pc base unit)

Is this a good camera? Will it transmit about 500 yards through oaks? I know it says 1.5-5 miles depending on antenna but I have a few trees. What is the max distance it will detect movement? I can't get on their damn website and not sure it will answer my questions anyway. I want to put it in a tree about 15ft. high and on a hill, facing downhill.
