Looking for another lab after recently losing my last one.

Anyone have experience with breeding FOX reds? Reason I'm asking is my partner who I'm going to breed my next pup to has a black, what would this do to the pups blood line? Would that hurt their value? Both would have excellent blood lines but just different genes.

i looked into them before, beautuful dogs.. think they are registered as yellow labs much like the silver is registered as a chocolate. the red is just a shade of yellow, silver is more of a recessive gene which i have concerns about. The red should do nothing but jack the prices up for puppies. There are only 3 labs recognized
yellow, black, chocolate

Little buddy on the right will be mine in two weeks. His parents are more red but he's not that dark.

My parents have a fox red from Wild Rose Kennels (about 9 years old now). She was actually distinguishably red as a newborn, and has a definite red color now. As far as the documented color, I will check the papers and see what it lists.

ST, hell of a dog there

My folks is just a high dollar lap dog

Had intentions of being a hunting machine, then my dad went overseas.

My uncle has had 4 blacks and 2 reds from Wild Rose. All blacks still alive, 2 retired. Both reds are gone...One was Comanche, baddest motherfricker ive ever seen in a rice field.

Man they are some smart dogs. She follows me out to the garden and some of my okra blew over a while back. When I grab my snips she knows I'm going to the okra patch and she runs over and starts tugging on the low hanging ones, successfully as you can see. I know I shouldn't let her do it, but I think that's the funniest shite. It's like having a little kid again.

He died about 3 years ago. My uncle thinks he was a little older than stated.

Right now he is working 2 blacks (Angus and Jett) in field trials. The other 2 blacks (Jill and Tiber) are retired and just hang out.

Nothing to add except this little guy is awesome. The argument against different colors is pretty heated, but all I'll say is the AKC did work and recognizes all pups as non-crossbreeds, just only notes them as choc, black, or yellow. The red labs genes aren't drastically different, you just might not get any reds in the litter.

I'll post pics of my silver when I get home. She is beautiful, but I'm not crazy with all those recessive genes floating around.

Mike is still running it. Deke the DU dog was there also, getting polished up before he goes to Canada. Dog has a rough life, fricks and hunts worldwide.
