Whats the difference in price between identical FX2 and FX4 trucks, minus the 4wd?

OK, Well the FX-2 is like a sport package F-150, it is the cheapest way to get leather compared to getting a lariat, and the other good part is that you can still get the extra $1000. XLT rebate.

FX2 - FX4 looking around 3k difference, But you lose the XLT rebate if you go with the FX4

Gotcha. If it were relatively inexpensive for the bump to 4wd, the op should get it just to have. $3k may be too big of a leap.

well 3k for the 4wd and lose 1k in rebate so that is a 4k diff.

Its not that the 3k leap is too much, rather than I can't see myself using 4wd too much or even any at all. Is the 3.5 L ecoboost engine a must get? Like I said I haven't driven them yet but have read some good reviews on the ecoboost & some negatives.

The eco is a good engine it will caost about 1k more and you will lose the $500 5.0 rebate, so you are looking at $1500. swing for 1 mile per gallon diff, unless you need the extra 100lbs of torque.

I'm looking for a truck this fall, but looking for the best time to buy. In general, would September or December better to buy? Do all dealerships work on a Jan-Dec fiscal year? Does the September end-of-quarter provide good incentives?

The invoice don't change just the rebate would and there is noway to know what the rebates will be but waiting on rebates you lose the choice of finding the options you want, kind of a gamble right now on the FX-2 with the 5.0 you are looking at $5500. in rebates if you trade something in newer than 1995.

Any color but red & blue
Leather

Also, which axle would be the best for the truck? 3.55? I know nothing about axle ratios but see there is some different options.
