Just got a 2011 Ford f150 Supercrew XLT. I know plenty on here have experience with this truck. Just looking for some perspective from owners.

Why wouldn't you ask for opinions before buying a truck?

I have a 2013 Lariat with 102k miles. Most of this is highway miles but the torque comes in handy when towing.

I haven't had any real issues. The only complaint is a well known issue with choking/shuddering when jumping on the gas. Not normal turbo delay instead it feels like the vehicle will kill and the check engine light will come on. It clears after a bit but it could be dangerous if you are pulling into traffic or in front of someone. It's happened to me twice. The general theory (at least as I understand it) is that some condensate forms on the intercoolers when running at constant speeds for an extended period and it gets pulled into the intakes when you stomp on it. There's lots you can read on this if you search for it.

You know it's a TSB out on that model, and they'll fix it at the dealership? I had the same problem with my 2012 that I had and whatever they did fixed the problem.

I've got a 2015 xlt sport edition now with the 3.5 ecoboost and it's one bad machine. Definitely the most powerful f150 I've ever had and I've had 5. In sport mode mine will run over 90mph in the 1/4 mile, and I can pull my 20' triton bass boat like a dream.

I did research it. Just looking for personal opinions. If you have nothing to add, move on.

I just swapped out. 3/4 ton Chevrolet 6L for a 2014 eco boost lariat.
so much more fun to drive and the torque is nice
I get 17mpg overall most on the highway
only complaint is that the cab is very uncomfortable

Damn that's terrible. I get a little less than this with my old 4.6 V8

I rented a 2016 EcoBoost Expedition for a trip up to Massachusetts about two weeks ago. Smooth, quiet, and plenty of power to get around traffic. Never felt turbo lag, I think the throttle-by-wire that most manufacturers use these days is the real culprit, the turbos spooled with even the slightest uptick in load on the engine. I'd definitely get one if I was in the market for a new fullsize.

I was surprised at that also
was only getting ten in the 6L so this is better but obviously gas mileage is not the reason you get the Eco boost

it is quiet, forgot to mention that
you can barely hear it running

I have one with no issues. As for gas mileage if on the highway it's great. I get about 17 avg highway but I also have 35" all terrains. City driving it will get about 14-15. Before tires I could get 20 mpg on highway.

Honestly it doesn't get better fuel mileage I just find it pulls better then my old 5.0. If I bought a new one is go ecoboost again. In the newer f150s they made some changes to them

How much TQ does that baby V8 make? The Ecoboost makes 420+.

OH it's nowhere near what the ecoboost makes. It's just that Ford touted the ecoboost as getting such great gas mileage.

not really
they've marketed it as an alternative to the big block V8 normally found in a full size truck. Your small V8 is not what they've been comparing it too. what the Eco boost does do is deliver similar or better torque as a large V8 with measurably better gas mileage than the V8. It does not and was never advertised as getting the same mileage as a normal V6

Thanks for the responses. I really like it so far. Will be pulling a pop up camper with it as soon as I get a brake controller.

I'm getting that in my 2013 Super Crew with the 5.0. You must have a lead foot?

Yea I kinda have one but with bigger tires and a level the mpg dropped some. Pulling my bay boat I get 10-12 depending on interstate or back roads. It's not a big high mpg motor its power and torque is made for pulling. It pulls better than my 5.0 did though it will shift into 6th and stay there
