Got about 200 dollars in academy cards for graduation/Christmas
Also got 2 Lews speed spools as a gift from a neighbor
Anyways now I need a rod for one of them
What do you guys suggest? I like the ducketts but have never owned one
For bass fishing

We need to know what kind of fishing you plan on doing with said rod.

I know this doesn't apply here, because you have the Academy money to spend, but I started using custom made rods for the type of fishing I like doing, and it makes a big difference.

I won't go back to Academy rods anymore, and I never had any problem with them before. Had a friend who mentioned that he made custom rods on the side, and ordered some as Christmas gifts 2 years ago. He made them LSU rods and warrantied them.

Makes walking the dog a lot easier, popping the cork, but mostly, allows the fish better play at the boat, reducing lost fish. Specks have tender mouths.

My buddy has 2 Lews reels that seem pretty legit. Ive always been an abu garcia guy, but my next purchase may be Lews.

I reallyyy have gotten hooked on St Croix rods lately.
Guy in Ponchy at the small bait shop custom builds them and they are amazing

Academy doesn't carry them but If you want some good rods the Denali Koverts are awesome . They will outperform ducketts for about 30 bucks a rod less
