In my dad's boat, any pointers on where it has been good? We usually look for birds on the lake while the sun is coming up then head down bayou blue if no luck there. Any suggested areas to try?

Deep canals. Fish plastics on bottom. You'll have nothing to worry about. Fat trout. G'luck

Thanks - What colors are working well right now? I am up in Dallas these days, so I am not as in touch as I used to be. My thought is gulp shrimp or purple/gold cocahoe on a 3/8 ounce jig head for deeper water. That sound about right?

My FIL just got back from his camp in leevile. They hit the reds pretty hard the last 2 days in pot holes. He only uses, minnows, shrimp or a gold spoon. He doesn't do trout so all I have is a redfish report

KAB- I'd try a few different colors, if the water is super clean, use clear'ish' colors, and vice versa. I like deadly dudleys. Change up the technique i.e. bouncing off the bottom, suspended @ different retrieval speeds, or beating the bank. You'll find them.
