Headed to lacombe tomorrow for the first time (rented a camp). Any good trout or redfish spots? I have fished freshwater up the bayou, but we will be close to the lake. Was thinking there has to be a decent bull red spot nearby. Any ideas?

The shore lines of the lake in either the east or west direction from the mouth of Bayou Lacombe have been known to produce some reds. Not sure it's the right time of the year for it though. Too hot for them to be in the shallow waters along the shore.

Good luck though!

The fishing hasn't been good along the shoreline. There are some artificial reefs that are in a little deeper water not far away from lacombe. You may want to try those.

Lacombe Rig 2
N30 13.567 x W89 57.310

The two old rig locations and reef are your best bet, also there is a piling a mile or so south of goose point, I have caught some there before. Don't waste your time in the marsh for reds, I have fished for 20 years and have caught two that were not in the lake. Another spot is the pipeline to the east towards bayou Liberty, fish the shoreline before and try the bulkhead.
