Fishing in Walden Ponds in BR

Is it decent? I'm assuming its not public, but I have a very close friend that lives there. So would I be able to be his guest, or do you have to actually own property there? TIA
I don't do any fresh water fishing, but would like to try it out. Looking to stay in BR if possible. I would be in a kayak. It's either there or the LSU lakes I guess.

It used to be real good back in the 80s. Then it got silted in. Not sure if they've done anything to correct it.
