My daughter caught this in her cast net off the dock in grand isle this weekend. Havent seen one before. Any ideas?

Some type of goby, not sure which one but there are a lot.

nah, storm minnows are more like a kind of larsh.

Agreed Violet Goby. Color and the "chevron" patterns give it away.

Compare the pics. Not the same fish. Goby lives in a hole in the sand.

We call them Slippery Dicks. It's a type of Wrasse. They are snook candy.

Some kind of goby fish. Definitely not a storm minnow though.

My vote goes to it being a goby, not a wrasse.

That's a highfin goby. Head is way too big to be a wrasse.
