I bought an Enameled cast iron dutch oven but I also use it for gumbos and soups. It's a 16qt and one heavy fricker even when it's empty.

ETA: takes a chitload of oil for frying but can handle alot of fish, fries or boudin balls without the oil temperature dropping.

I use the cast iron set up shown in your pic with the basket, had it for about 10-12yrs i guess and it's been great.i would guess they all work fine so the price should be the real decision.

I like frying in an aluminum pot more than cast.

I like cast iron. It holds the heat well. My aluminum pot does too, but frying in the cast iron helps season it

I've been using an electric fryer all summer and I don't see myself going back. No tank needed, no thermometer, grease constant 375.
