As I've mentioned on here, I did a little bit of turkey hunting back when I was a teenager, but never got a bird. My dad loves it, and has always wanted me to get into it more. He even bought me a turkey gun a few months ago. So, I decided it was time I started turkey hunting again. I drove across the state and hunted once a couple of weeks ago with my dad. We saw/heard some but didn't bring one home.

I went hunting again this morning a little closer to home. I had this old boy on the ground before 7am. Lots of fun.

19lbs 6oz
9 3/4" beard
1" spurs

Ha! A turkey outweighs my hawk 6 to 1. It's been done, but it's a good way for a hawk to get its arse kicked. Nobody that likes their hawk encourages it.

Ever see those shows that show people carrying a bird over there back? Well, I call BULL shite! The first bird I shot, I did that crap. By the time I got to my 4 wheeler, I had a boot full of blood along with my back.
