First boat

Looking to buy my first boat and wanted a little advice. Want something I could take to Toledo Bend or even fish the back bays and canals near grand isle. Any suggestions on lenght, style and or brand would be appreciated. Good to buy it used and $10k is about my max budget.

I'd look for a used 19 ft bay boat with trolling motor. Maybe a used Kenner or sea pro.

I would look 18'-20' center console. Aluminum is a good choice too... less things can go wrong and it wont rip a hole in the bottom when you run it up on an oyster bed. Good luck. I'll be in the market for a new one this summer.

If you could bump that budget up to 15k you could get a damn fine used boat.
Not that you couldnt with 10k, but i find boats between 10-15 are usually old boats with newer motors, where under 10 both can be shitty
