Nothing funny about it. It looks like the Columbia River Gorge is going not going to be the same for a long, long, time.

For those who have not been to the Columbia River Gorge, it is a national treasure and this is a damn shame.

The wilderness is not the place to set off fireworks. Especially when it's bone dry. Unfortunately, these teenagers and the rest of us are going to pay the price for their stupidity.
Teens giggled as they threw fireworks...

Felony arson. Put 'em away. Some people have to learn the hard way.

I hate to see that. As a resident of wildfire territory it makes me sick when these wildfires are started by human stupidity.

I'm hiking the PCT right now. We went through Cascade Locks on the 18th of August but unfortunately the Eagle Creek trail was closed due to the fire when we got there. It expanded rapidly in the past few days and it looks like the entire town is going to go up in flames. Still 0% contained. It's so sad because it was beautiful when I went through.
It seems all of Oregon and now Washington are on fire. We had to get a ride out of the Norse Peak Wilderness because the smoke was so bad and hard to breath. The next day they closed the pct between Chinook Pass and Snoqualmie where I'm waiting for word on the Jolly Mountain fire north of us before we hike out.

Yea that's bad news up here. I've got ash coming into my place from these fires on the east side of the Cascades. Every morning there are news stories on the fires and evacuations. Hundreds of thousands of acres are on fire in WA and OR.
Those teens are idiots but I bet they don't see a day in jail.
