I've got a few raised vegetable beds & 2 of the beds have fire ant infestations. I normally use Spectra or Ortho granules but I just don't know if that is safe to use alongside the plants. Anybody have this problem & what was your solution or did you just say "screw it" & go with the granules? TIA

most of the chemicals that are listed to kill pests on garden plants will kill fire ants as well...I'd buy something in liquid form for garden pests and add a little dish soap to it before dousing the ant beds with it.

put a pot of water on the stove
bring to a boil
add dish soap
pour on ant pile
watch them die

Looks like I'll go the Seven Dust route. Some of the suggestions would work well if it were an isolated mound, trouble is, the entire bed is the "mound" so boiling water, soap, & other "yard methods" wouldn't work.

Sevin dust saved my maters a couple of years ago - would recommend for the fire ant problem.

They make a seven dust spray that hooks to the hose. I use it and it kills fire ants in my yard I also spray it on my vegetables.

I don't use chemicals in my garden, so I normally just water the frick out of them everyday till they eventually move out of the garden to somewhere else in my yard, then I kill them with chemicals

normally after 3-4 days of being flooded they will move

I've also used Amdro for years. Have had good luck with it but don't know if it should be used around vegetables.
