Got it the old fashioned way. By means of my Grandpa. Funny story, I've been talking to my dad for days about wanting one of these. It wasn't until day three he told me that his dad had one and rarely used it. So, I did what any "good" grandson does and sweet talked my papa for it. it's a 1980 model purchased in Dallas, TX. Looks pretty sharp for being 35 years old.
Something is wrong with it though. The door at the loading spot is a bit iffy. It flops around like the spring that's supposed to hold it in place is missing. I'm in the process of uploading a video onto YouTube for you guys to watch and see what might be causing it.

Is that screw tight that it connects to? I don't know the names of the parts, but search Google for "Marlin 336 exploded view", and check everything dealing with that

I carry a tiny screwdriver with me to tighten the screw that holds the "door" to the magazine.
There are multiple screws that work their way out from the constant action.
But all you should need is 1
