Moved here 2.5 years ago. Curious what all of you Louisiana natives prefer. I left out tuna because to me its a no brainier number one choice.
1.Cobia
2. Flounder
3. Mangrove Snapper
4. Specks
5. Redfish

Never had Triple Tail or grouper which I hear are delicious.

There are so many that are great.

I believe wahoo is pretty underrated. I see it as the tuna of white meat.

One of my favorite to eat are sheepshead.

Grilled, fried, tacos, courtbouillion, we've even made mock crab cakes out of them. It's a very versatile fish with mild fish flavor and white flakey meat.

Grouper
Snapper

Grouper sashimi is amazing, frankly. Personally I think it's ahead of tuna. But I think a tuna steak cooked rare is better than grouper. It's close though.

Snapper is next and everything else falls out below that. And for me, most of the offshore fish outclass anything you can catch in shallow water. Just my 2 cents.

I'm honestly not the biggest fan of snapper. It's a pretty good ways down my list.
