I'm pretty fond of my 7mm mag but it's hard to beat the old tried and true 30-06.

Howa makes a mini action in 6.5 Grendel. I want to build up a howa. Either the 6.5 creedmore in heavy varmint or 7-08 with a bell and Carson stock. I have a 300wsm in a HS precision thumb hole stock, so I'm not sure why I won't to build the others, I guess for the less recoil and cheaper to shoot factor.

My vote goes to the 300 wsm. I love that round. Other then the hard to find expensive ammo it is a fantastic round with plenty of power for everything in the US without having "too much" power.

I only hunt squirrel and rabbit, so obviously the 338 Lapua is the smart choice here.
