I know each rifle treats each factory load different but for discussions sake, what is your personal favorite factory .270 round for Whitetail?

I've been shooting the deadliest mushroom in the woods for years.

Core-lockts

I know there are higher end loads, but my favorite is the most reasonable price round that works.

Hornady

I've had 6 .270 rounds from 3 different boxes of Hornady ammunition misfire, 2x on deer. This was over the course of 8-10 yrs. I have had a combined Zero misfire from all others.

To answer the OP, I've shot 130 CoreLockts almost exclusively for 25 yrs. For some reason I switched to Federal Fusion 150s this year. They are very good, but I will probably go back to the Remingtons after this box. I like the 150 grain bullet, but those 130 gr fly flat flat flat every time. Not sure why I don't just shoot fusion 150s. Haven't considered that I suppose.

140 gr Hornady "Light Mag". 3100 fps (a little hotter load) Only have one box left of these. No longer made as far as I know.

I used Remington a frames (nickel casing I think) for the first time this year bc it was the only thing academy had when I went.

Switching back to core-lokts though. Friendlier on the wallet and the blood trail with the a frames was almost non existent.

Barnes Vortx. High shoulder shot with complete pass through on the two deer I shot this year. Neither took a step.

Winchester Ballistic Silver tips. Once I found these and killed a few hogs and deer, I'm not changing any time soon.

I'm a bit undecided for now.
It's between federal blue box, fusion's and hornady American whitetail right now.
