Took the family up to Kerville Texas to finish out the hunting season, we finished it with a bang!!! My 6 year old took his buck at 100yds, perfect heart shot with his .223. The deer didn't make it 10 yds. We were both excited as hell!!! This is his 3rd year in the stand, second shooting.
Took the Mrs. Tiger out the next day and she pulled off a great heart shot as well @ 80yds. It was her first, she was excited as hell!! I should have BJ points for years now
Proud Dad/Husband, thought I'd share
We found some awesome sheds walking the lease!!
Took this dude out because he was a freak!!! Skinny as hell and could barely walk. Happens when they overeat protein.

Great pictures and a great hunt! Years ago, used to go out and hunt at the Brookshire Grocery deer lease, which was between Kerrville and Ingram. There is some good hunting in that area.

It was crazy the deer could barely walk!!! We did an autopsy, the backstrap was about 1/4" thick. He was in bad shape, had already shed his horns.

With nails like that, they usually work at the DMV.

You cannot shoot a deer with a .223.

I think that a woman and a 6 year old just proved that you can....
Granted, both can shoot better than most hunters these days dream of. Practice makes perfect... and we practice a lot!!

Congrats on the memories! Yep, that looks pretty much exactly like our company ranch in Kerrville. Love going up there. Too bad we were too busy this season and I was only able to go the 3rd weekend to take some clients. Passed on a heavy horn 6 pt cull buck because I thought i would be able to get a doe at least later in the season and never made it back there. Think I may be taking the family just to go or hunt some exotics 2 weekends from now.
