Family dog...

You will never regret getting a BMC. I have one I rescued that is the best dog I've ever owned. Just a cut above any other dog I've ever had and I've had a lot of dogs including Jack Russells.

Mine guards the yard. Hunts pretty much everything. He actually caught a deer right in front of me after chasing me around for miles on the four wheeler. Acts batshit crazy when I give him the signal and does laps and circles around me like he's baying me and it's hilarious. Doesn't get aggressive with strangers (like the pizza guy)unless he detects me being uneasy (like the baptists wanting to talk about Jesus while I'm watching football). Protective of my kids and plays with them great without being too rough. Has a protection bark that will cause your basic meter reader to piss himself. Only thing he doesn't do is play catch for longer than he feels like.

Just an all around great dog.

I've had tons of hounds and to be honest, I doubt I'll ever have another one. They're just so damn stupid/hard headed when compared to a BMC.

If I needed a dog strictly for it's nose, I might get a hound for it, but not till I checked to see how the blackmouth did first.

Watching Jesse catch that deer then just kinda lope along beside it nipping at it for a quarter mile like he was out for a leisurely jog after I know he had to have been blown out chasing the 4 wheeler for miles was pretty damn impressive. He's so fast he catches rabbits, squirrels, etc. Just catlike in how fast he can explode on something. And completely voice commanded. Gets his feelings hurt if you raise your voice at him. Damn hound won't even acknowledge you exist till you crack him upside the head.
