I am thinking about trading in a couple of my guns towards newer/different guns this weekend at the gun show. I have a Winchester 30-30 model 94ae (plain jane nothing special) and a Savage .17 HMR bolt action both with Simmons scopes and both are in really good condition. I am looking to trade the .17 for towards an AR style .22 and the 30-30 towards an AK. I am just trying to prepare myself for what may be offered and how much extra I need to be prepared to spend to get what I want. I hate to part with any of my guns, but I really don’t care for the 30-30 and I don’t necessarily need a .17 and a .22. TIA

Probably about 2 and a quarter on the 30-30 and $200 on the 17. There will be a premium on all "assault" weapons, so you may not get much of a deal.

Would probably be better off trying to sell yours on your own and going to Academy for the 22 and getting the AK online. I just think the ak and ar s will br high as hell right now at the gun show.

Is it the laminate, thumb hole stock? and which scope? The gun itself new is $400 I think, so with a good scope (not sure which simmons you have) I would think you could get $300 for it at least.

And if I were picking, I would keep a .17hmr over a .22. Better range, accuracy and balistics. I just like the round better for hunting. If you're just plinking though, ammo cost catches up with you.
