OP, I would get a 3/4 ton truck. That is just too much weight to be towing regularly with a 1/2 ton. It is just gonna push you around all day and wear out your brakes unless you set the trailer brake up heavy. Tires are gonna wear badly, etc. Just too many problems to be messing with a 1/2 ton.
Don't think I agree w/ you re: the diesel fuel economy. My 6.7 F250 is almost identical to my 6.2 GM. 13-14 city, 17-18 hwy.
They must've figured out where to get some extra mpg from the 6.4 to the 6.7. Stock I used to get around 10.5 city and 13.5 highway. I drive like a douche though, but can't see a 6.4 going higher than 15 on the highway. My computer now reads 25hwy and hand calculated it is actually 21-22.
Best transmission in any truck, anywhere.
I am gonna have to disagree with that. I haven't torn mine up yet even with all of the power I am putting down. The programmer did up pressure and shifting is firmer than most would like it to keep it from slipping too much, but you have to have a good foundation to be able to handle that much power. An Allison would be burnt up 4x by now
