Electric Turkey Fryer

Anybody used one of these things? If so can you speak to whether it's worth the $$$?

I don't know about the product you linked to, but this can "fry" a turkey like nobody's business. That electric one looks pretty small. Would need a little bird.

I had one. It worked ok but don't plan on doing a big bird in it. Definitely much less of a mess and you don't have to constantly monitor the temp.

My dad has one of those greaseless fryers and he loves it. Cooks all kinda stuff on it too.

My mother and stepfather had the OP's fryer and not only had to be a small bird, they said it didnt heat the grease back up quick enough after you drop the bird in, for their liking.

I have one. The problem is the temp dial goes from low to high. you can't set on say 250. so you don't really know how long to cook the turkey, until you do it a few times. I've used mine once in a year. Prefer oven.

How many minutes/pound do yall cook turkeys in the propane version? I do 3.20 in oil. Just comparing. Might be the way to go with the price of cooking oil these days.

I know they were selling the char broil oil-less fryers at lowes and HD for like $100. I know everyone else has said it already, but this thing is the best cooker I've ever owned. A must buy for outdoor cooking enthusiasts. Cooked a turkey in it last week that made your pant region moist

I have the one the OP linked. Got it for Christams 2 years ago. Still in the box, never used. I am trying to trade it for something useful, like a case of the clap.

I may use it sometime to fry a whole chicken, but my fishcooker base will probably get the call on that one too.

My sister has one and loves it.

THAT one, reading your link, says for turkies up to 16 lbs. Average turkey prolly weighs 20+lbs.

I have one of the grease-less fryers and it works great. Large birds - no issues. Takes a bit longer per pound but no mess and really great taste!
