I've had to work since Thursday, but I fricked the bass up the day before I came back on shift!

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is a chinquapin?

Looks like a mix between bream and crappie (sac-au-lait)

It is a Bream. You can call them Blue Gill, Red Ear, Long Ear, Bull Bream, Chinquapin, etc. Sure you can be specific on all of these or you can just call them all Bream.

Chinquapin =/= bluegill in any capacity. That's like calling spotted catfish and blue catfish just catfish.

Actually I do the same for catfish. If someone asks what I caught I'll just say 5 catfish. If they want to know what kind then I'll tell them channel, blue, or flathead. I always say striped bass and just bass for large mouth.

Ole blue head skunked me this weekend, he must have gobbled 200 times in the first 30 minutes. Ended up henning up on the other side of the property and got away.

Close enough. I'll just say it was south of the bridge in Pigeon.

Friday, took my daughter hiking at Clark Creek

My daughter spotted this water snake sunning right by us

Took the yak out yesterday morning and had a decent day. Water was pretty dirty and wind made it tough. Had a handful of throwbacks of each.

Just finished cooking fish tacos since my son is visiting. About to take my daughter and her friend to Frenchtown BREC trails for a bit then make it back to watch the end of the Masters.

Trying to fit everything in before the twins get here.

Spent Saturday working on chain saw. Sunday finally got some shooting lanes cut on the lease. Almost complete.
I did kill 1 cotton mouth but he sank after a 9mm round to the head.

Grinded out some ok days on Toledo. Bite was slow for us, but did manage to find some good ones. Let this one swim after the shot.
