Saw a good solid amount of birds the weekend of the 24th. Went this past saturday and saw very few in my marsh and very few in The Burns. I am hearing everyone is completely under water right now and flooded out if you hunt the marsh.

Drove around Gueydan Sunday and saw very few ducks. Only one small group of specks. Haven't heard or seen a snow this year. Sure wish we had that extra week in January.

going to be the worst opening day I've ever had at my lease in bayou black. spent last weekend finishing blinds and today putting decoys out. not much seen at all, pretty pathetic actually.

It pisses me off that when LDWF surveyed the hunters between third split or third zone the public chose the third split. Then LDWF post the results and says they are going to do the opposite because it benefits New Orleans area.

Worked on blinds in the Gueydan area over the last two weekends. Didn't see many ducks, but lots of specks around our lease. On a positive note, just returned from the store with bourbon and wine for the camp.

Drove that way Monday morning. Saw a couple big groups of what I think/hope was teal near spicers towards black lake off in the distance but other than that haven't seen the first duck.

We have a lease north of holly beach and we worked the marsh a couple weeks ago and didn't see anything... Not feeling too optimistic for the opener but I'll be out there

I saw very few sucks between Mer Rouge and South Dakota this week. I pheasant hunted for 5 days and the guys up there claim they haven't had enough weather to have birds yet. Sounds like the first few days of the season will be good, but going to fall of fast if something doesn't change.
