Dove hunting

Need suggestions to take a 10 year old dove hunting ...I'm willing to drive an hour or two from the baton rouge area

Dont know how it is in louisiana, but good luck unless you know someone. We have people asking very year to hunt our field and offering good money to come. But fields out my way are mainly family/close friends

I think Sherburne has dove fields open to the public. Other than that you may need to find a pay hunt or a friend with a field.

Pretty much have to know someone with land who will let you hunt on it, or knock on the door of someone with land and ask permission.

I think it is mainly miss. I have been out there eary in the season to run my dogs and see a few birds, but not enough to make a hunt...

LSUballs was wanting to have an OB get together at his place in Rayvegas, but it is more than an hour away.

LaDept of WL&F has several fields around the stae they plant sunflowers and do dove hunts. I know some people around Lake Chas has been over to the ones around Welsh and did good. Check their website for a map and info

I think the fields are leased from landowners for opening day only and the info is not put on the website till a day or two prior to the opening so nothing will be there now...

Sandy Hollow WMA in T'poa Parish between Amite and Franklinton. The first Saturday of the season is always a yout' hunt.
