My lab somehow got into my chihuahua's food today while i was at work, ate about half of the bag, the small bag. She is noticeably bigger in the stomach... Just let her poop it out or get vet involved?

My dog has eaten a knife, cough medicine, countless dead animals, tools, toys, drywall, furniture, pine cones, and the list goes on.

If your dog dies, then you need to get your money back.

Ha! shite a couple weeks ago she went nuts and ate a bag of sourpatch kids, a bag of greenies (the dog treat) a bag of the spiciest beef jerky ive ever made, and some saltines (assuming to calm her stomach) had to get the vet to induce vomiting for all that. Im sure she'll be fine with this. Shes just kinda uncomfortable looking with her stomach so full

1 tsp of hydrogen peroxide/10# of body weight is a safe way to make your dog vomit if you're concerned. In all likelihood, she will be fine without intervention, if a little uncomfortable.

True story... I made enough brioche dough to make 2 king cakes. While the dough was proofing I ran some errands. Called my son to knock it out of the bowl and cut it into 4 equal pieces. When I got back home there only two pieces on the counter. I asked my son if he was having trouble counting. Just when I asked him that I looked down at my 45 lb lab pup. She looked like she was about to pop. She was miserable for awhile but got over it. And I had to make 1/2 size king cakes.

My 9 week old YLF just found one of our pool noodles in the garage and turned it into about 8 bazillion pieces. No telling how much she probably ingested. I just cleaned up that mess and logged on to TD and clicked on this thread. Weird.

Maybe a call to the vet is in order. I lost my 9 year old lab do to torsion of the stomach at Thanksgiving. His stomach got distended, he looked distressed and foamed a bit at the mouth.

Called the vet and he said to bring him in to the er. Stomach flipped, he had surgery but passed the next morning due to toxins released from losing the blood supply to his stomach.

Good luck.

Probably a little of both. Some of my guests kept tossing him turkey and ham and he got so excited that his stomach flipped. Apparently, this is a risk with large dogs with full chests like labs.

I once set out a 5lb pack of frozen chicken on the counter to thaw. My lab at the entire thing, minus the yellow Styrofoam from the package, in less time than it took me to go take a piss off the back porch. It was about 30 minutes after I took the pack from the freezer, so it was still damn near 5lbs of frozen chicken. He never checked up. Dogs can eat anything.

I do not understand why you did not kennel her when you were away/lock her outside or lock her in a bathroom.

Goodluck getting that stank out of your bedroom.
