Does anything kill weeds and not grass?

Weed & Feed didn't do the trick. In between the ditch and the street, my grass is being overtaken by some type of weed that I haven't seen before. Is there something that will kill weeds but not centipede grass?

2-4d assuming the weed is a broadleaf. But mix at the recommended doses. If you mix it to strong it will kill the grass as well.

Not sure if you can tell by these pics...

that looks like the kind of stiff that 2-4-D will kill, thus allowing your real grass to prosper. I hate some broad leaf.

That's a broadleaf weed. 2-4-D.
It is a selective herbicide that kills only broadleaf weeds, so if you have some grassy weed, it will remain.

so what does a bottle of 2 4 D look like? where to buy?

most weed killers have that as the main ingredient, though not quite as concentrated
i've had good luck with spectracide weed stop from home depot or walmart
mix as directed, it has 2-4D and some other chemicals that target certain weeds

2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (usually referred to by its abbreviation, 2,4-D) is a common systemic pesticide/herbicide used in the control of broadleaf weeds. It is one of the most widely used herbicides in the world, and is the third most commonly used herbicide in North America.[2] 2,4-D is a synthetic auxin (plant hormone), and as such it is often used in laboratories for plant research and as a supplement in plant cell culture media such as MS medium. It was a major ingredient in Agent Orange alongside its chemically similar relative, 2,4,5-T (2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid).

Most weed and feeds are pre-germination herbicides. It keeps the seeds from becoming weeds. You need to know what you put out in order to know if it will work.

I didn't put out the weed & feed for the purpose of killing the weeds. I do it every spring to green up the grass. I have no clue how that stuff works so just assumed it may help with the weeds.

What was the chemical?
Atrazine has pre and post-germination properties. May be that.

Brown bottle with white label and some yellow stuff on it. Any hardware store will have it

All feed stores will carry 2-4-D, just ask Bubba behind the counter to point you where. Wait for a hot sunny day with no rain chance to spray

Atrazine will work better, but takes about a month to see the results. 2,4-d will act quickly, but may require a second application.
