Shot this doe this evening when I saw it limping around with one of its front legs dangling around. When I got to it I noticed these bald spots on its back. Anyone seen this before, and is it ok to eat?

I am sure it is fine in terms of you COULD eat it. By the time you cook it will be fine. I will say, there is no way I WOULD eat a deer covered in maggots though.

Yall are maggot racists obviously.

For real though, Skin it. get it down to a temp where there's ice crystals in it but not hard frozen. If the meat looks too dark, cut around it. The rest is ok as long as you cook it well enough. Ain't gonna lie, if I knocked her down, I'm gonna eat at least some of her if possible.

She looks jacked up. She doesn't have Mad Cow though.

Where was this? We have a few on camera in Concordia parish with similar spots, hut haven't seen them during daylight. We were wondering if there was a disease spreading.
