Deer hunting near Clinton, LA

Any of you guys hunt near Clinton, LA? How is it? Debating on going check out some area up there.

Sure, I've hunted up there. Just like anywhere else, depends on where you are. There are deer up in them parts.

Isn't it better the farther west you go, and worse to the east towards Greensburg?

I hunt south of Clinton and it has sucked last two years.

My grandparents had a farm just north of Easleyville on hwy 43. Huge deer around there but hard to sneak up on them.

My dad has hunted just north of there on the Louisiana side of the Mississippi line for 25years.

Yeah it sucks, i know it well. too many idiots hunting around it. i had a friend that was probably in that same club you are talking about. maybe owned by Solterra? they did fair from what recall.

I'll be hunting East of Clinton off of River Rd for the first time this year. We used to hunt of of HWY 422 North of Clinton about 10 years ago. I don't see nearly the signs or the deer we saw back then.

There is a lot of pressure around that area. A lot of guys shooting anything with fur. My Grandmother has a place not far and it sounds like D-Day opening weekend around there. 15 years ago it wasn't bad but I wouldn't pay to hunt around there now. You better getting in a club North or west of Clinton.
