Just lost everything in my freezer for the second consecutive year because wife or kids did not close it properly. Not happening again!!! Anyone know of a alarm that would let me know either when door opens for period of time or temperature rises. Freezer is in store room so alarm would probably need to be remote.

You could stick your dog in there, he will bark when it's open.

I have 2 deep freezers. 1 is outside and 1 is in my utility room. I bought the 2 pack from Amazon and they work fine. Alarm hasn't gone off yet but I have the monitor hanging in my kitchen where u can check the display.

Educate your wife and kids how to properly close the freezer, and if they don't, there will be consequences and repercussions

I had that problem with my son and the fridge in the garage utility room. I would find it standing open at least once a day. I would 1. Make him stop whatever he was doing and go close it. And then 2. For the next several days I would randomly make him get up and go check it. I would usually pick the middle of his favorite show or in the middle of a video game as a good time to go check it. Even woke him up out of bed once. No issues anymore with closing it.
