For any North East Louisiana guys, Simmons, in Bastrop, has 325 rounds of Federal Auto Match 22LR for $20.00 a box

*******Missed this a couple of days ago because it was in the AR thread...

Field and Stream still has a buy one get one at 50% sale going on for any of their 22LR...

Field & Stream 22LR

Headed there tomorrow when I get into Lafayette! Think I'll get two boxes of 555 round Winchester. I've got another 1200 rounds already.

I may go ahead and buy a Smith & Wesson M&P15 Sport II Tuesday before I leave.

I had to drop off my brother at the airport in Lafayette so we decided to hit up Field and Stream since we'd never been there.

Holy smokes, I've never seen so much .22 in one place in my life, even before Sandy Hook!

Prices weren't all that great, but I did pick up a couple 500 round boxes of Thunderbolts for $53, as that was the cheapest I could find (yeah I already know about Remington rimfire ammo).

I figure if they don't work in one of my semi-autos I can always run them through one of my bolt-actions.

With all that being said, .22 ammo is definitely more plentiful in this area than in the last 4 years. I've been seeing it regularly in the 3 area WalMarts I sometimes shop.

.05/rd... You won't find better than that. It's buy one get one 1/2 off this weekend.

True, but these were Remingtons. Lots of CCI and Winchester to be had for 7 to 8 cents a round, though.

Don't recall seeing any regular Federal, although they did have Automatch. They even had some Eley.

They were. But the different brands were differently priced.

Remington rimfire ammo has a reputation for being finicky and inconsistent, thus cheaper.

The prices down there are cheaper than up here in Ruston. I got excited about finding 325 rounds of Federal Auto Match 22LR for $20.00 a box in Bastrop. I paid $90.00 for 1000 rounds of the 'Black Copper' Winchester .22LR M-22 that's $70.00 down there.

I haven't shot my rifle yet. From the way everyone talks, I'd better quit buying Remington's stuff.

I'll be on Ambassador Caffery Pkwy, so I was going to check out the Academy down there and go by the Field & Stream not far away. Looks like there's a Walmart North of 167. I'll check them all out.
