When we were at gulf shores eatly June last year the beach looked like this because of an Algae bloom.

Wow, if that's all bycatch then they need to create some better fish exclusion devices. (And make them use them.)

It probably smells about like it always does...

Allegedly, the responsible party has contracted to have the beaches cleaned. Mayor Carmendelle(sp?) assures us that all will be/smell well for the holiday weekend.

We get fish kills like that when Red Tide blooms hit the coast. Happens more as the water warms and seemingly more than not just south of Tampa Bay.
