Crabs in the surf on Grand Isle

Have the crabs showed up in the surf? The full moon in July is usally when they arrive!

Still not doing much. Guy by us had 6 traps out for over a week last week and only had 4 dozen over that time frame.

boiling crab question.

Would you boil blue crabs that are 2 days after catching and were put on ice alive and have been on ice ever since?

Then no. Make sure they are dead though. They go dormant on ice. Unless they were in water they shouldn't die in two days.

The meat deteriorates quickly once dead. You won't get ill, but the meat will be mushy and not appealing.

Sept. is the prime month. in middle august you can start going. lasts until October
