Talking to a buddy about crabbing (I've never been). Is there one time of the year better than others to go? If anyone has ahn general info or specific locations that would be great. I know a lot of people go to difference locations around Galveston

I could be wrong but as far as I know crabbing is for hotter months. At least that's the only time we've ever gone/caught.

In Texas I believe blue crabs need to be 6" across to keep.

In the summer as others have already said. We would just run about 30 foot of line between 2 PVC poles stuck in the surf. We used turkey necks and caught plenty. We have always crabbed the west side of the island
