CSB-

I bought over a 1000 yards of dirt from a local guy a few months ago- paid him cash as soon as he loaded it.

Called yesterday to get an extra load to make some dirt bike jumps and berms for my little boy.

Texted the fella asking how much I owed- got a call just now, "That one's on the house." I can't believe it- man had to load the material, and haul it to my house- he's got at least $150,000 tied up in equipment. He surely doesn't need to give stuff away, nor would I expect it.

Moral of the story boys- Treat your people right, pay yur bills on time. It'll pay back in spades!

I usually only get this happy when I get a new tractor.

Pays to keep the customer happy. I'm sure next time you need work or are asked to recommend someone he will be at the top of the list.

ETA: Similair situation - we had a logger cut 80 acres of timber last year. He graded the road as he left with waterbars. A neighboring property owner uses this road for access but is always spinning tires going up the hill and crosses on the high side of the waterbars - wearing them down so that they are innefective. This made our new flat road rut pretty badly over last winter. That neighbor complained about it and it got back to the logger. He called me last week to get the gate key so he could come back and fix the road. Said if the guy was able to tear it up that fast then his dozer operator didnt do a good enough job.

Sounds like you need to have a talk with this jackass tearing up the road.

We have, but damage was already done. Already talking to a mobile welder to fix a new gate up top. Never had an issue until our old gate was torn down - this guy has another way to get to his property - but it adds a half hour or so to his drive.

Sadly, they will probably sue you to gain access to the newly fixed road once you fix the gate...

True, sometimes it's nice to be old. Good luck with the way this USoA is going.
