Point being, they will feel much more confident after learning on a bigger gun, and learn the mechanics of shooting by doing so
Smaller guns kick more, and new shooters focus more on that then proper technique. Very bad

Most will try to sell you on a semi for first hand/CC use. I just don't see why a novice shooter would want to deal with the extra considerations of that platform for a self-defense gun.
I absolutely hate snubby revolvers. Can't control them worth a damn. Part of that is because my hands are so wide though(5"). I don't like shooting any small guns because my ring and pinky fingers normally hang off the bottom of the grip
