Cocodrie trip report

Went yesterday with a buddy brought home 2 man limit of specks, 20 white trout, 2 flounder. All on plastics, no live bait mostly fishing birds. Trout were mostly small side but did fish one shell island and caught about 10 bigger ones about 18-20 inches. Fish were everywhere though there was a big school of specks with about 50 birds diving in mouth of coco marina when we picked up. We literally caught fish 2 at a time until we stopped fishing at 1pm. Probably threw back 5 specks for each one we kept, cork would go under 3 or 4 times a cast. Also boated 5 Spanish mackerel, a 25 pound jack, and about 20 big gaff tops. We even saw a triple tail but we were running outboard and it went down before we could cast to it.
I used to go to Cocodrie a lot but actually hadn't been in about 6 years so this wasn't a bad trip at all. Probably stayed within 5 minutes of landing.
