You can launch into the intercoastal canal right near the Mississippi River locks, almost directly across the river from LSU.

Believe me, I'd put it at Freds over the canal any given day. The Amite is low and you have no wake zones that sandwich the launch at Freds.

Very easy to launch there. I've wakeboarded in there and am still here.

St James Landing isn't that far, and it's a straight shot down I-10 and get off at Airline. It's a really nice launch and it's free. It puts you in Blind River which connects to all the major waterways. i.e. Amite, Diversion, Maurepas

False River is just as close as Fred's (depending on what side of campus you're on).

there is a launch into the Mississippi under the new bridge. but you probably do not want to go in there with the high water

False River isn't that far either

Technically there is a launch on east side of Miss river south of new bridge a few hundred yards or so.

So you'd be putting into the Mississippi River?
Wouldn't seem so prudent for a jet ski, if so.

Actually, it would be LSU lakes but that wouldnt be prudent for a jet ski either.

Can't run a motor in the LSU lakes. I wouldn't run one in MR either but I see bateaus in the river so why not a jetski
