I've never really built anything before so I figure this is a good place to start. I'm about to look up some plans. So far I like the A type one. Any dos or donts? Downside/upside to having chickens in your yard?
Thanks!!!

It's a little pin you move around the yard (wheels on one end and a handle on the other) it's totAlly enclosed and as a little coop on one end off the top. Each chicken will lay 1 egg a day, and you move the tractor every so often. Fertilizes your grass, gets rid of roaches bugs and termites, and you get fresh eggs. Sounds pretty damn good to me. So tomorrow I'm going to try it.

Ooohhh. Gotcha.

I never heard of one before. Of course I've never raised chickens either.

How many are chickens are you talking? Downsides I would say scratch feed is more expensive than eggs and while you might get rid of some small pests chickens attract much bigger ones. Snakes, mice, rats and others.

What kind of chickens do you have. I have been wanting to get some. If I build a chicken tractor I can use it to cut my grass

Can't beat fresh eggs.

It pisses me off, but I had to give away my chickens. My doctors are even telling me to give away my dogs. I put my foot down when that came across.

I'm thinking 2-3 grown chickens. No roosters. So I won't be raising them. Just eating their unfertilized eggs :-) do you think feed will be expensive for jus a few chickens?
