You're right. The stupidity of politicians and their desire to change a story to meet their personal political agenda never ceases to amaze me.....

The mayor is a total a**-clown. Just like every other protest, sans Phoenix, where they tie the hands of the police force and let the children run wild, this kind of crap is what they want to happen.

So it doesn't surprise me that he would think of something totally off base to continually screw his citizens in the name of safety. Just another Democrat-run city going down the toilet.

Typical response of a politician. They are reactive to situations and not proactive, which is why I hate politics and avoid it like the plague! In my mind, 90 percent of them are crooked so when they talk, I switch the channel immediately!

Look I don't give a shite either way. OP pisses me off the most by A) Getting the city wrong in the title, B) pasting a "quote" like it's real thus adding to the total dumbassery in today's world, C) Not linking his "source", making me go look for it and finding fricking BB, thus enraging me.

But no, he doesn't say that "because someone got hit by a car then we should strip gun rights". Breitbart says that, but the mayor doesn't say that. Daily reading for true fricking morons

Some serious butt hurt in here this morning you guys must be fired up from the crossbow debate - so it's a headline, any politician using a car death as a platform to bring up gun control is ignorant.

Here's what the Mayor said

Read that (if you can). He doesn't say that you should just ban CC, he is saying that at a gigantic protest there shouldn't be people there OC or CC or having guns period.

Is that what BB said? Of course not. True fricking mongoloids will not get it, though.

I'm done with this shite. Hey OP-- eat shite.

Oh and from your link

And so I am going to work with my colleagues on City Council to demand that our General Assembly swiftly enact legislation allowing localities to ban the open or concealed carry of weapons in public events reasonably deemed to pose a potential security threat.

From what I know you can. The guy who pulls out float has been doing it for years.

But on a side note, why would you? Means you can't drink.

According to the Atlantic, Signer said, “While I am…a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, that right, like all Constitutional rights, comes with limits.” He then said, “Just as machine guns cannot be owned by civilians in this country…it should not be acceptable to open-carry or concealed-carry firearms at an event of the sort we saw last weekend.”

I see what the point is. Why is he going after civilians' rights to carry in the wake of a car attack?

I find it hilarious that these leftists say that our constitutional rights have limits, but when you propose something like voter ID laws they say that constitutional rights shouldn't have limits and are inherent as is.

I'm not defending the guy. But he's not just going after right to carry. His full statement has to do with the entire situation that took place. That's what Breitbart is doing, totally twisting words and context, more so I believe than the MSM. Shitheads like OP eat it up and then get to vote. That's why I am so pissed in this thread, it doesn't have to do with guns or RtC arguments, it has to do with the source material here.

After reading it again, I see what you're saying. It appears as if he's using it as an example (a bad one, though) and not a path of action. I agree that I wish we could stop the constant misrepresentation of people's words for cheap hysteria and political points.
