I realize this is not an "outdoor" topic. However, I posted to this board (and hope to keep the thread here, please, mods) because y'all are good folks and generally give knowledgable, practical advice, rather than the garbage responses found on most of the other boards.
I read a good deal for work and leisure, so I'm looking for a big, comfortable chair. It's gonna go in my home office, so I don't have to get any approval from the wife as far a decor/style/etc
What do y'all recommend?

You thinking lazy boy style or the kind with the foot stool deal?
I'm not a furniture salesman, so I don't know the names of each type of furniture

It really depends what your preference is. Rocking chair with the ability to lay back and swivel, or a stationary chair.
I looked it up, and I personally like the things called chair and a half with ottoman. Lots of room, but stationary

Bradington Young makes a great recliner in leather or fabric. On my 2d one of daily use in den last 25 years. Comfortable with good back support partially reclined for reading. Comfortable as a bed for naps when fully reclined.

I bought a recliner from Hurwitz Mintz in NOLA back in about '02. I've sleep in it too many nights to add up, great chair and if you calculate how much time I spend in it it was dirt cheap.
Just looked, it was made by Lane Furniture out of Tupelo, MS. Did not know that.
It's still going strong now BTW.

Yep.
For a desk chair, you can't beat Herman Miller Aerons., though.
