Camper Insurance

I have mine with my auto/homeowner's company.

Most people attach it to their auto insurance. In either case (auto or specialty carrier) be sure to read the fine print and know exactly what they will cover.

For instance, some carriers will only cover an awning replacement once, since it's such a common claim.

One has to read up on there coverage. A lot of times, the coverage for towing is only maxed out to $2500 for whatever you are towing. One has to get a rider for high towing. I asked this one time due to towing 50K boats in the pass and the above is what I was told.

It's a different story if whatever you have is in the bed of the truck. Insurance company's blow the big one.

Campers policies will not carry liability, that will extend from whatever your using to pull it. You can get comp and collision on a camper policy though.

Go with a specialty RV company, not Progressive.

And definitely do not just use your auto carrier.

What is approximate value of camper?

Well, Progressive generally outsources their toy policies to another carrier. I learned this after my boat got struck by lighting at a marina ( along with several other boats). I had a company that Specialized in boats and I had no problem with the claim. Those that had Progressive had issues; slow on estimates, slow on repair, etc.

Years later, when I bought an RV, I looked at Progressive as it was recommended. I didn't find their total package was as good as the RV-specific carrier I signed with, although their rates were similar. The devil is in the details.

I'll admit, I'm not familar with them.

I would just encourage the OP to review the policies carefully.
