Full disclosure. I suck so bad at this.

Brought my rifle to the indoor range to verify zero. Shot a shamrock at .5-.75 inches low/right at 25 yards. Was 100 yard zero last I checked but the math doesn't work out.

Tikka .308
150gr Barnes TSX
0.42 BC
2820 muzzle velocity
Zeiss 3x9-50 w/med Tikka rings, don't have the center line measurement handy.

Hitting the stand for the first time this year tomorrow. Max shot 250 yds. Am I shooting high/low at 100/200?

I guess it will be fine cause the bullett is still rising at that point?

I'm no expert either

The bullet rises and at super close range the height difference btwn the scope and barrel makes a diff. Esp if ur sighted in dead on or an inch high at 100. Just like wt a bow. A 5 yrd shot u need to use ur 40 yrd pin to compensate.

I appreciate the snark. I'd likely post something similar. I've been banging my head against the desk using the Hornady calculator. Thanks for the link!

If I have no option but to shoot at 25 and hunt, in zeroing inch low to dead on. But then I wouldn't trust where the damn thing was hitting

Low wouldn't bother me as much as right at that range. How much right?

Can you post a picture of your target?

Also do you know in inches or even better in MOA the height above center of bore of your crosshairs/center of scope?

If you are a half inch low at 25, your 100 zero should still be good dead center.

At 250 that 150 will drop about 8 inches so aim high or adjust your scope.

I don't have a picture of the third shot but it split the difference touching on the high/left side.

You should definitely adjust that scope left.

Elevation is good.

Windage is not.

I'm think to be dead at 100, you need to be about an inch low at 25. Maybe a shade over an inch.

But that inch right thing would not work for me.

Sorry man. Was trying to link the Nikon Spot On ballistics sight, fail. Plug your data in and it will give you the info you need. I agree with everyone else adjust left, if anything.

Ther right bothers me a lot. I think I would shoot once tomorrow before getting in the stand.

If morning hunting shoot somewhere first after light then get in stand. Not fair to a deer to shoot at one knowing it's off. Even with ballistics experience too much to guess there.

You already know this but this is something you could have prevented by shooting a few times before the season or before the hunt on a longer range.

That's no good there, you will be 4+ inches to the right at 100

Thanks y'all. This was really bothering me.

I've got some time at the camp tomorrow before the evening hunt to take a few shots at 100yds.

If/when I bring home a deer I'll post pics here.

Thanks again. GBtOT.
